I preordered my son's pictures online. The teacher passed out packets of photos to all the students in my son's class.

He received no photos in his packet, only information on how to order photos. His friends kidded him that his parents didn't buy any of his. His feelings were hurt. I called LifeTouch and gave them my confirmation number and the rep could not explain why my son was the only one in his class not to receive his pictures but that LifeTouch would send out his pictures in 2 to 4 weeks.

I explained that was not a solution.

That was all that offered, so I have to wait a month to get pictures for which I prepaid while the rest of the class has theirs. There was no apology given.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

It amazes me that this pathological relationship with school pictures flourishes despite easy modern access to photography in all forms.

The racket between schools and Lifetouch has been going on for decades.

Why are pictures a school function and who prospers from indoctrinated self absorption of the type that "His feelings were hurt" ?

From 1961-68 ours were taken every other year and with a class photo. From late 68-71 nothing was offered whatever.

Late 71-74 were taken annually but purchase was optional and used primarily for the annual.

Senior photos in 1974 were required to be taken at a particular local studio upon penalty of omission from the annual. Another racket. The studio is gone now.

Most people are as good at photography with their phones as the grossly overpriced racket photos.

Vote with your wallet and common sense and explain to the children that the school photo is foolish and set for financial gain for the school and the photo company. Offer them 1/2 of the money you would have spent and see what they say.
